Let's start by taking a moment to practice gratitude.
What is a favorite shirt or outfit that makes you feel confident and why?
Think back to a time in your school career where you felt successful. Why did you feel that way and what were the contributing factors that allowed you to feel successful?
The Recipient
The Homeless Youth School Clothes Kit was designed with our partners at Note in the Pocket. The mission of Note in the Pocket is to provide clothing to impoverished and homeless school children with dignity and love. Note in the Pocket believes that it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school.
The Reason
Note in the Pocket’s model for getting the clothes to the children strives to remove some of the stigma that goes along with needing help. A child does not need to wear the same pair of pants over and over again or wear clothes that no longer fit. We get much needed clothing to children in two ways. We deliver a wardrobe that has been lovingly selected for that individual by one of our volunteers to the schools and agencies we work with and through Shop For Free events set up in high need neighborhoods. By providing stylish, good quality clothing items that they can be proud to wear, we empower children to succeed in the academic environment.
Unpack the Box
Take everything out of the box.
Lay everything out so you can find what you need to build the kit.
Sort through your household closets to find a few gently used clothes to donate with your kit. All sizes welcome!
Create Your Kynd Code
Please follow the instructions on this card to create your own Kynd Code. This Kynd Code will be included in the final kit.
*Make note of your Kynd Code. You will use this code at the end of the project.
This is for you to spread extra kyndness to someone in your own life. Consider writing a note to a friend, loved one, or colleague that you are grateful for. Address the note and send it in the mail or give it to someone in person.
Completed Kynd Kits go all over the world. As you customize your kit, please refrain from using any religion or political content.

Markers
2. Decorate the canvas tote.
Use the permanent markers to decorate the canvas tote. This bag will be used for the youth to “shop” with and to pick out their most favorite items.
The markers can bleed through this material so please put a piece of paper inside the bag before decorating. This will ensure you can design both sides of your bag without the marker bleeding through.
Nicely fold any gently used clothes or shoes you would like to donate and place all of the personalized items into the poly bag provided for shipping back to Project Helping.
