Ridiculously Easy

Volunteer Your Expertise

Spark’s Mental Wellness Program increases health equity by engaging skilled mental health volunteers to provide quality, accessible, and affordable mental health services to people experiencing barriers to care. Services include no-cost counseling for individuals, couples and families, support groups, community partner support, workforce development and clinical supervision initiatives and continuing education opportunities for mental health professionals.
 
 

Empowering Aging

Spark powers two AmeriCorps Seniors Programs: The Senior Companion Program and Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). These National Service programs promote the independence of older adults aging in their home as they continue to be vibrant, contributing members of our communities. 

Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

 
RSVP program connects adults aged 55+ in rural Southern Colorado with local volunteer opportunities to improve community well-being and support their own health.
 
 

Senior Companion

 
The Senior Companion Program engages volunteers aged 55 and older to help fellow older adults maintain independence and stay active in their communities across several Colorado counties.

Spark Knowledge

Spark Knowledge increases health equity by providing education and training opportunities that empower mental wellness practitioners, volunteers, and community leaders to strengthen their impact. Programs include trainings, continuing education courses, and speaker engagements on mental wellness, volunteerism, empowering aging, volunteer engagement, and nonprofit board service. Spark Knowledge opportunities are designed to advance mental wellness volunteerism and build stronger, more connected communities.

Volunteering is a powerful tool for improving the mental wellness of the doer. This is the basis for our entire mission. If you have volunteered before you understand the feeling that doing something for someone else provides. But there is also a lot of amazing research to support this concept.

Access Mental Wellness Services

Spark’s Mental Wellness Program connects individuals to free or low-cost mental health services through the generous support of our skilled mental health volunteer professionals. Anyone in Colorado experiencing barriers to accessing mental health care is eligible for free counseling and other support services through Spark’s Mental Wellness Program. This includes individuals, couples, and families who may face challenges such as:

  • Lack of insurance
  • Inability to afford treatment or co‑pays
  • Limited provider availability or long waitlists
  • Language barriers, stigma, or other obstacles

NOTE: We do NOT provide Crisis Services. If you or someone you know is in a crisis and need immediate support, please dial 988 or call or text the Colorado Crisis Hotline: 1-844-493-TALK (8255) Colorado.
