When a child is receiving mental health care, the waiting and worrying can be difficult. This Parent Support + Kit was created to help caregivers take one small breath at a time, with comfort items and simple tools that make a tough moment feel a little less lonely.
Created in partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado’s Pediatric Mental Health Institute (PMHI), this kit is designed specifically for parents and caregivers while their child receives care for a mental health concern.
This one is all about comfort, grounding, and a little “you’ve got this” in the middle of uncertainty. Volunteers assemble each kit with care and add personal touches to remind caregivers they’re not alone.

- Comfort + care basics
- Lip balm, Toothbrush, toothpaste, and head cover, Shower wipes, tissues, Mints, gum, Ear plugs, Fuzzy socks, Eye mask, Roll-up water bottle
- Grounding + small distractions
- Mini journal, Puzzle book, UNO Go game, Playing cards, Washable markers, Stress ball
- Snacks + hydration helpers
- Bobo’s oat bites, Granola bars, Fruit snacks, Propel packets
Where completed kits go (and who receives them)
Completed kits are delivered to Children’s Hospital Colorado ED units, where they are given directly to parents and caregivers waiting in the Emergency Department while their child receives mental health care.
