Forty Allstate volunteers gathered in Chicago, IL to build 100 Baby Care Essentials kits for families supported by Share Our Spare. The build ran as an in-person, self-hosted event, with each volunteer assembling individual kits.
How it worked
Kits shipped to the Chicago location ready for the team to build. Volunteers worked from individual kits, each with its own set of Baby Care Essentials supplies, following the printed instructions included in every box. The team ran the session themselves using Project Helping’s facilitator guide, so no outside host was needed. A Project Helping program manager set up the program in advance, confirmed the nonprofit recipient, and arranged for the finished kits to be delivered directly by the Allstate team. After the event, Allstate received an impact report showing where the kits went.
Once built, the kits were distributed by the team directly to Share Our Spare. Each one gives a family essential baby care items they might not otherwise have. Companies looking for a straightforward, self-hosted way to give back can run a similar build with Project Helping.
