Forty Allstate volunteers spent an hour building Children’s Hospital Activity Bags during an in-person session on August 31, 2026. Each kit gives a child in the hospital something to do during a difficult stay.
How it worked
The team gathered in person and ran the build themselves using Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed kit instructions. Each volunteer assembled an individual kit from their own boxed materials. Project Helping set up the program, shipped all 40 kits to the location, and arranged prepaid return labels so the finished bags could ship back for distribution.
Once complete, the Activity Bags went back to Project Helping, where they entered the nonprofit network for delivery to children’s hospitals. Any team looking to run a similar afternoon build can start with a short launch form and have a program ready in under three weeks.
