Allstate Fidget Blankets Chicago brought together 35 volunteers on June 17, 2026 to build 40 fidget blankets during an in-person session.
How it worked
The team ran the build themselves, self-hosted with Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed kit instructions. Each volunteer assembled an individual kit from their own boxed materials. A Project Helping program manager set up the program in advance and arranged for the finished blankets to ship back with prepaid labels. Project Helping handled the details so the team could focus on the build.
Once complete, the fidget blankets went back to Project Helping, where they will be delivered to a nonprofit in Project Helping’s recipient network. Teams looking for a straightforward, self-run volunteer project can build one of their own.
