Fifty volunteers from Allstate Health Solutions spent five hours together building 165 kits for families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities – Eastern Wisconsin. The team built Ronald McDonald House Comfort Bags and Fidget Blankets, standard kits with no added branding or customization.
How it worked
This was an in-person, team building event with a Project Helping host. A Project Helping representative was on site in person to facilitate the build, guiding the group through each step. Volunteers worked as Individual Kits, each person assembling complete kits from their own supplies rather than working an assembly line. A Project Helping program manager set up the program in advance, arranged the kit shipment, and confirmed Ronald McDonald House Charities – Eastern Wisconsin as the recipient before the event took place. Once the kits were finished, they were labeled for direct distribution and sent straight to the nonprofit, so the team didn’t have to manage delivery logistics themselves. After the event, Allstate Health Solutions received an impact report showing what the team built and where it went.

The finished kits went to Ronald McDonald House Charities – Eastern Wisconsin, where comfort bags and fidget blankets offer small moments of ease to families staying near a hospitalized child. Programs like this one show how a single afternoon of team building can turn into something tangible for people going through a hard stretch. Any team looking for a hands-on way to build together and give back can run a similar program.
