Thirteen volunteers from Allstate Health Solutions came together in person to build 50 Senior Care Package kits for seniors at SECU Family House.
How it worked
The team ran a self-hosted, in-person build using a production line, with materials arriving in bulk so volunteers could set up stations and each add one part to the kits. A Project Helping program manager set up the program and confirmed details ahead of time, and kits shipped with everything needed along with a facilitator guide and step-by-step instructions. The kits were standard, with no customization. Once finished, the team distributed the kits themselves rather than shipping them back, and Allstate Health Solutions received an impact report after the event.
The finished Senior Care Package kits went to seniors at SECU Family House, giving them something made with care by people who took time out of their day to build it. Any team looking for a straightforward, hands-on volunteer project can put together a program like this one.
