Twenty-five Allstate volunteers gathered in person to build 40 Back to School Backpack kits, giving students a fresh start to the school year.
How it worked
The team built the kits themselves using Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed instructions, with each volunteer assembling individual kits from their own boxed materials. A Project Helping program manager set up the program and confirmed details in advance, and found and confirmed the nonprofit recipient ahead of time so the finished backpacks could go straight from the event to that partner. Allstate received an impact report afterward.
The backpacks went directly to a nonprofit partner Project Helping matched ahead of time, giving students supplies for the year ahead. Teams looking for a simple, self-hosted way to give back can build a program like this one.
