Applied Materials Builds 41 LGBTQIA+ Kynd Kits Virtually

June 17, 2026 Applied Materials
#Corporate#Virtual

Applied Materials brought 41 volunteers together for a virtual build of LGBTQIA+ Kynd Kits on June 17, 2026. Each person built from their own kit, wherever they were.

How it worked

Kits shipped to each participant’s home ahead of the event, with everything needed to assemble a complete kit. The team played a recorded Project Helping intro video to open the session, then built on their own. A Project Helping program manager set up the program and confirmed the timeline in advance, and prepaid return labels came with the kits so builders could ship their finished work straight back to Project Helping.

Once returned, the 41 finished kits went into Project Helping’s nonprofit network for delivery to people they support. Applied Materials’ team spent their time building something for the LGBTQIA+ community without leaving home. Any team, in one office or spread across many, can run a Kynd Kit program like this one.
