On July 16, 2026, 130 BDO employees built Pollinate Kits from their own homes. The virtual session ran self-hosted, with each participant assembling a complete kit at their own desk.
How it worked
Each kit shipped directly to a participant’s home, customized for BDO with client-specific touches added to the box. Because the event was self-hosted, the team used Project Helping’s facilitator guide and the printed instructions included in every kit to run the build on their own, without needing a live host. A Project Helping program manager set up the program in advance, confirmed the shipping list, and handled the logistics of getting all 130 kits to the right addresses on time. After the build, BDO received an impact report covering the full program.
Once finished, the kits did not ship back to Project Helping. Instead, BDO distributed the completed Pollinate Kits directly within their own community. Anyone considering a virtual program for a distributed team can look to this as a model: everything shows up at each participant’s door, ready to build, with the details handled ahead of time.
