Boston Scientific Builds 50 Heat Relief Kits for the Unhoused

July 9, 2026 July 9 (6pm - 8pm) CT Boston Scientific

Boston Scientific brought 50 volunteers together on July 9 to build 50 Heat Relief kits for people experiencing homelessness.

How it worked

The event ran in person from 6pm to 8pm, hosted by a Project Helping representative who was on site to lead the build. Volunteers worked in a production line, with materials arriving in bulk and each station adding one part to the kits. A Project Helping program manager set up the program and confirmed the details ahead of time, and the facilitator guide and instructions arrived with the kits so the team could focus on building. Once finished, the kits shipped back to Project Helping with prepaid labels for delivery to a nonprofit in Project Helping’s recipient network. Boston Scientific also received an impact report after the event.

The finished Heat Relief kits will reach people experiencing homelessness through Project Helping’s nonprofit network, offering relief from extreme heat. Companies interested in running a similar build for their team can start with a short launch form.
