Colgate-Palmolive employees built 61 Toys for Shelter Animals kits during an in-person session on September 14, 2026. Each kit becomes a toy for an animal waiting in a shelter for a home.
How it worked
The kits shipped in bulk to one location, and the team ran the build self-hosted using Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed kit instructions. Each participant assembled an individual kit from their own box, with no customization. Project Helping’s program manager set up the program and arranged shipping ahead of time, so the kits and instructions were ready to go on build day. Once finished, the kits shipped back to Project Helping with prepaid labels for distribution.
Project Helping delivers the finished kits to animal shelters in its recipient network, giving shelter animals a toy while they wait for adoption. Any team looking for a simple, self-hosted way to build something with a clear purpose can run a program like this one.
