Datadog employees built 20 Kynd Kits during a conference, putting together Toys for Shelter Animals kits and Chemo Care kits between sessions.
How it worked
The event ran as a self-hosted build, with the team playing a Project Helping intro video to kick things off before assembling their kits. Each builder worked with an individual kit, so everyone put together a complete project from their own box. Project Helping set up the program, shipped the kits with everything needed included, and sent along facilitator materials and printed instructions so the team could run the session on their own. The finished kits went straight to a nonprofit partner that Project Helping had already matched and confirmed ahead of time.
- Toys for Shelter Animals
- Chemo Care
The Toys for Shelter Animals kits give shelter animals something to play with while they wait for a home. The Chemo Care kits offer comfort to people going through chemo treatment. Any team looking to fit a volunteer project into a conference schedule can run something similar.
