How it worked
All 50 kits shipped in bulk to one location for the build. The team ran the session themselves, using Project Helping’s facilitator guide and the step-by-step instructions included in every kit. Each participant assembled a complete kit from their own boxed materials. A Project Helping program manager set up the program and confirmed shipping and timeline in advance, so the kits arrived ready to build with everything the team needed. Once the kits were finished, the team distributed them on their own rather than shipping them back.
The finished kits went directly to people receiving cancer treatment, giving them something to ease a hard stretch of care. Exact Sciences handled the final step of getting the kits into the right hands. Any team looking for a straightforward, self-run build day can put together a program like this one.
