Johnson & Johnson employees spent their lunch hour on September 10 building 26 Childhood Chemo Care kits. Some team members built together in person, while others joined from home, making it a hybrid event running from 12 PM to 1 PM ET.
How it worked
The team self-hosted the build using Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed kit instructions, with each person assembling an individual kit. Project Helping’s program manager set up the program and coordinated kits to both the office location and remote employees’ homes ahead of time. Once the kits were finished, the team shipped them back to Project Helping using prepaid labels for distribution.
Project Helping will deliver the finished kits to a nonprofit in its recipient network, where they’ll reach children going through chemo treatment. A lunch hour was all it took to bring the team together, in the office and at home, around a shared project.
