L3Harris Technologies brought together 46 volunteers for a hybrid Kynd Kit build, assembling Dignity Bags for people experiencing homelessness. Some team members built in person while others joined from home, each working from their own individual kit.
How it worked
The session ran self-hosted, with the client playing a Project Helping intro video to open the build. Each participant assembled a complete kit from their own boxed set, so the format worked whether someone was in the room or joining remotely. A Project Helping program manager set up the program in advance, and the kits arrived with everything needed along with step-by-step instructions. Once the bags were finished, they shipped back to Project Helping using prepaid labels for distribution.
The finished Dignity Bags now move through Project Helping’s nonprofit network to reach people experiencing homelessness. Teams looking for an easy way to combine in-office and remote volunteers in one build can run a program like this one.
