MathWorks volunteers gathered for a full day, in person, to build 70 Kynd Kits: 41 Children’s Hospital Activity Bags and 29 Rescue Dog Care Packages.
How it worked
The session ran from 9 AM to 5 PM, with each participant assembling individual kits from their own boxed kit. The team self-hosted the build using Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed kit instructions. Project Helping shipped all materials ahead of time and had a program manager confirm the details in advance, so the team just had to show up and build. Once the kits were finished, they were shipped back to Project Helping using prepaid labels for distribution to nonprofits in the recipient network.
- Children’s Hospital Activity Bag
- Rescue Dog Care Package
The Children’s Hospital Activity Bags will go to kids spending time in the hospital, and the Rescue Dog Care Packages will support dogs waiting for their next home. Teams looking for a hands-on, self-hosted day of building can put together a program like this one.
