Medtronic brought together volunteers to build 205 Kynd Kits in person, covering three causes at once: Dignity Bags for the Unhoused, Domestic Violence Survivor Support kits, and Children’s Hospital Activity Bags.
How it worked
The team gathered for a self-hosted, in-person build. Volunteers worked through Individual Kits, each person assembling their own complete kit using the printed instructions that came in the box. No customization was added, so each kit followed its standard design.
Project Helping’s program manager set up the program ahead of time and confirmed the details, so the Medtronic team didn’t have to source materials or write instructions. Everything needed for all 205 kits shipped to the group with the facilitator guide and kit instructions included. Once the build wrapped, the finished kits shipped back to Project Helping using prepaid labels, and the team received an impact report afterward.
Because kits were returned to Project Helping, they will move through Project Helping’s nonprofit network to reach people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence survivors, and hospitalized children. Each Dignity Bag, survivor support kit, and activity bag gives someone a bit of comfort during a hard stretch. Companies looking for a similar mid-size, self-hosted build can run their own program the same way.
