Medtronic brought together volunteers on June 27, 2026 to build 354 Foster Youth Activity Bags. The kits were customized with Medtronic-specific touches before the build, giving each bag a personal detail on top of the activities inside.
How it worked
This was an in-person event, self-hosted by the Medtronic team using Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed kit instructions. Volunteers worked as Individual Kits, with each person assembling a complete bag from start to finish. Project Helping’s program manager handled kit selection, customization, and shipping so the kits arrived ready to build, with instructions included in every box. Once the bags were finished, Medtronic distributed them directly, self-distributing the kits within their own community rather than shipping them back to Project Helping.
The 354 Foster Youth Activity Bags went straight to youth in foster care, giving them something to call their own. Medtronic’s team also received an impact report afterward, with registration codes letting builders see the difference their work made.
