United Airlines volunteers built 50 Make a Wish Kits during an in-person event, each one customized with United Airlines touches. The kits support the Make-A-Wish cause.
How it worked
The team ran the build themselves, self-hosted with Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed kit instructions to walk through each step. Each participant assembled an individual kit from their own boxed kit, complete with a custom insert specific to United Airlines. A Project Helping program manager set up the program in advance, arranged the kit customization, and confirmed shipping details so everything the team needed arrived ready to build. Once the kits were finished, they shipped back to Project Helping using prepaid return labels, and the team received an impact report afterward.
The finished Make a Wish Kits now move through Project Helping’s nonprofit network to reach people connected to the cause. Any team looking for a simple, self-hosted way to give back can put together a program like this one.
