ZS Associates ran a hybrid Kynd Kit program over five days in Atlanta, GA, building Children’s Hospital Activity kits for kids in care. In-person volunteers assembled 50 kits production-line style, while 20 remote employees ordered individual kits through a custom landing page and built on their own.
ZS Cares, the company’s giving program, welcomed volunteers into the build with a message about creating moments of joy and distraction for kids in the hospital.
How it worked
The event ran Self-Hosted using Project Helping’s facilitator guide and printed kit instructions. In Atlanta, the team set up a production line, with each station adding one part to build the Children’s Hospital Activity kits at volume. Remote employees ordered their own kits through a dedicated landing page and assembled them at home on their own time. Project Helping set up the program, shipped materials to Atlanta and to each remote address, and arranged distribution in advance. The in-person kits went direct to a local nonprofit partner that Project Helping matched ahead of time, while the remote kits shipped back to Project Helping for delivery. ZS Associates received an impact report after the build.
The finished kits give kids in hospital care something to hold onto during treatment, a small bag of activity and comfort during a hard stretch. Teams looking to run a build across in-person and remote employees at once can see how a program like this comes together.
