WHAT IS A KYND LEADER

This is a great opportunity to get more involved in Project Helping!

A Kynd Leader is an ambassador for Project Helping who leads volunteers once a month (or more). You volunteer alongside our volunteers to ensure that the volunteer experience the day of the event is fun and engaging, resulting in a positive impact on the community and the mental wellness of our volunteers. Essentially, you’re making sure every event fulfills our mission!

Commit to leading 5-15 volunteers at one event per month. Events are typically 3 hours on a regularly scheduled day (i.e., the first Monday or the third Sunday of the month).

Here’s what you’ll do the day of the event:

  • Welcome and check in volunteers
  • Volunteer alongside with the volunteers throughout the day
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the day with nonprofit partner
  • Engage with the volunteers and build community
  • Represent Project Helping and answer volunteer questions
  • Take pictures and video
  • Wrap up by thanking the volunteers and sharing the impact of their service

After the event, we ask that you complete a brief event report so we can track all the great impact being made, and save the photos you took so we can share your amazing experience with the world!

WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP

Here is our current calendar of events. Anything marked with OPEN in red is a spot where you can (co-) lead.

OUR ROLE

We provide online training covering volunteer leadership skills, mental health awareness, and event logistics so you’re ready to represent Project Helping in the community. Training is made up of short videos and activities that you can complete at your own pace, and usually takes about 2 hours to complete.

Project Helping will find a monthly volunteer opportunity that fits both your schedule and your interests as a volunteer leader. We ensure that every event we create is social, meaningful, and accessible.

Once we create the opportunity, we do all the work to post, market and recruit volunteers for the volunteer event. We post every volunteer opportunity on our website, which gets over 10,000 visitors per month, and share every event to our Facebook page.

We also keep in touch regularly with Kindful Leaders through email and Facebook updates. We are here to support you!

I am a graduate of the University of Colorado (class of '04) and a Broker Associate with LIV Sotheby's International Realty based in Boulder, CO. My wife and I live in Golden with our 12 year old son and 3 dogs. We absolutely love the outdoors (skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, road biking etc). We both enjoy meeting new people in our community and staying active with all of the exciting things Colorado has to offer.

My name is Michelle and I am excited to join the Kindful Leader team. I have been married for 7 years and have 6 amazing kids! I have always been an active volunteer in our schools, but with our youngest heading to college this fall, I am excited to expand my volunteer horizons and find new ways to serve. I look forward to meeting you all and working with Project Helping!

My name is Abigail, I was born in Florida but moved to Colorado when I was 5. I have a younger sister and two younger brothers along with a cat and a dog. I'm a bit competitive and I'm on the swim team and the track team at school. Volunteering is important to me because I love the feeling of being a part of something bigger than myself and Project Helping helps me feel that.
