Spark’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), powered by AmeriCorps Seniors, is hiring for two roles, one based in Huerfano and Las Animas counties, and another based in Alamosa County. These positions help recruit and support volunteers 55+, build partnerships with local organizations, and create meaningful service opportunities that strengthen community connection across southern Colorado. Who We Are: Founded in 1979 as a Denver-Metro Volunteer Center, Spark has been the statewide leader in volunteerism for over four decades. From training skilled professionals to mobilizing spontaneous disaster volunteers, we’ve supported every type of service in communities across Colorado. Formerly Spark the Change Colorado, Spark has continued to adapt and grow to serve as a vital part of the Colorado volunteerism landscape and support volunteer service, training, and engagement in all forms.

Alamosa RSVP Outreach Coordinator – Full Position Description
Spark’s Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) – Alamosa County Outreach Coordinator
- Reports To: RSVP Director
- Job Status: Part Time – 25 hours per week, hybrid virtual and in-person settings
- Salary: $21 – $23 per hour, depending on experience
Position Summary: The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is an AmeriCorps Seniors program that is managed and run by Spark’s Empowering Aging Department. The RSVP is one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation for people 55 and over and Spark staff of this program support their local initiatives and volunteers that serve in their communities in the realms of food security, environmental stewardship, and capacity building. This position would support the RSVP in Alamosa County.
Primary Duties:
- Represent the program at public education forums, health care fairs, volunteer recruitment events, community events, and other potential places and spaces, like virtual events, to promote the program.
- Celebrate volunteer achievements through recognition and appreciation events.
- Assist in the planning and execution of service opportunities that address significant issues in the community.
- Coordinate and monitor RSVP assignments, supervisory arrangements, and other activities surrounding the work of RSVP volunteers.
- Recruit, select, orient, and assign new volunteers to volunteer stations and/or clients according to the specifications of AmeriCorps Seniors Operation Manual and to meet contracted goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with volunteers and volunteer stations throughout the community.
- Assist the RSVP Director in other program-related tasks, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Computer literacy required, including but not limited to various Google products and services (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet, etc.), Notion, Slack, and ability to learn new software systems.
- Must pass Criminal History Background Check that includes name-based National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW), and fingerprint CBI and FBI checks.
- Commitment to these values as described in the Spark Strategic Plan: community, collaboration and courage.
- Ability to work independently, virtually and in-person in Alamosa County, while coordinating with staff in other locations throughout Colorado.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong, productive relationships with diverse individuals and partner organizations.

- Job Status: Full Time – 40 hours per week, hybrid virtual and in-person settings
- Salary: $50,000 – $52,000, depending on experience
Position Summary: The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is an AmeriCorps Seniors program that is managed and run by Spark’s Empowering Aging Department. The RSVP is one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation for people 55 and over and Spark staff of this program support their local initiatives and volunteers that serve in their communities in the realms of food security, environmental stewardship, and capacity building.
