Heather Robinson Hernandez – Manager, Huerfano and Las Animas County RSVP

Heather Robinson Hernandez is passionate about building connected, caring communities where people feel supported, valued, and inspired. She has spent more than twenty years working in education and in workforce and community development, bringing a unique blend of creative arts, empathic leadership, and strategic communication to every role. Her career has included designing and managing programs, supporting emerging and established leaders, and bringing people together through collaboration, communication, and values-driven change.

Before joining Spark as the RSVP County Manager for Huerfano and Las Animas Counties, Heather worked across higher education, federal service, and the nonprofit arts sector, focusing on community impact, capacity building, and organizational and leadership development. She has taught and led programs in diverse environments: from international military education, academia, and workforce training to leadership development and rural arts initiatives. In all these roles, she has led with a commitment to helping people grow, connect, and thrive.

Heather brings this experience into her RSVP role with a focus on connection, well-being, and purpose, helping volunteers and community partners build meaningful relationships that strengthen their communities. Outside of work, she is a writer and mixed-media artist who finds inspiration in nature and the region’s mountain landscape.
