I’ve always been passionate about volunteerism and service. Raised in the ‘Volunteer State’ (Tennessee), I’ve volunteered in many capacities, supporting local food banks, animal shelters, and disaster response efforts. I received a bachelor’s in Marketing in 2017 from Tennessee Tech University. Upon graduation, I struggled to find work that aligned with my passions. On a whim I decided to Google ‘Jobs that help people.’ Little did I know this small decision would set the course of my professional career for years to come!
My search led me to AmeriCorps; I decided to apply, and so began my journey with Spark (formerly Metro Volunteers). Shortly after graduation, I packed up and moved 1,200 miles away to Pueblo, Colorado to serve as an AmeriCorpsVISTA Volunteer with Spark. After completing my service year, I was honored to join the Spark staff as a full time employee. I’ve worn many hats in my more than 7 years with the organization, allowing me the opportunity to coordinate volunteers, manage volunteer programs, create curriculum and lead trainings, and grow professionally in every facet of nonprofit work.
I’ve had the unique experience of supporting major projects like rebranding, statewide expansion, new program creation, and more. Moving into my leadership position in 2022, my focus as Marketing Director is to shape and guide the overall direction our organization, elevate our mission and vision in community, and create and implement marketing strategies that are inherently inclusive, representative and accessible to all. I am beyond excited for this new journey of joining Project Helping and bringing along the spirit of Spark to better support, engage, and mobilize volunteers all over the state of Colorado.
