“Do Good Feel Good has been a theme of my life long before I began at Project Helping. Growing up, mental health was rarely discussed and all I knew is that the panic and anxiety seemed to quiet when I was doing good for my community. After graduating from high school in Michigan, I left for a year of “Service Above Self” work in Bydgoszcz, Poland sponsored by Rotary International. The “Do Good Feel Good” theme didn’t end there. I went to Michigan State University to focus on International Development and Nonprofit Management in hopes of creating a career out of this mentality. This path of study lead me to an incredible internship opportunity in Kenya to focus on women and adolescent health. Post graduation, I was lucky to find an opportunity at Project Helping to help further the discussion and practice of volunteerism and mental health.” Megan finds travel to be priority in life and is always planning where to jet off to next.
