At Project Helping, we believe in creating ripples of kindness that lift up every member of our community. Our ‘LGBTQIA+ Support’ Kynd Kit is one of our volunteer projects-in-a-box designed to offer support, affirmation, and essential resources to LGBTQIA+ individuals when they need it most. Created in partnership with Envision: YOU, this kit is designed with the local LGBTQIA+ community in mind to make sure the contents are a perfect fit.
What’s in this kit?
The LGBTQIA+ Support Kynd Kit is a thoughtfully curated care package filled with practical essentials, creative self-care items, and messages of affirmation. Each kit is designed to brighten someone’s day and remind them that they are valued, seen, and not alone. Inside each kit, you’ll find:
- A DIY cosmetics bag for personal items
- LGBTQ+ coloring book and mini Pride flag
- Blank cards & envelopes (for writing words of encouragement)
- A journal to support mental wellness & creativity
- Fun items like stress balls, colored pencils, and other artsy supplies
- Information and resource lists focused on LGBTQIA+ affirming support and mental wellness
- Instructions and a gratitude prompt to help kit builders add a personal touch and reflect
Your Impact
These kits don’t just brighten someone’s day—they make a real difference. Kits have gone to Gay-Straight Alliance clubs, local LGBTQIA+ support nonprofit organizations, and directly to individuals throughout Denver and beyond. Recipients often report feeling affirmed, cared for, and more connected to vital mental health resources.
You can build a Kynd Kit as an individual, with your company, or as part of one of our volunteer events. Each experience is easy, inclusive, and impactful, no crafting or volunteer experience required. Instructions and gratitude prompts are included so everyone can contribute meaningfully, whether you’re participating in-person or virtually.
By assembling and distributing these Kynd Kits, you’re offering concrete support—and a message of unconditional acceptance—to someone who needs it. Together, we can help create a world where everyone feels safe, valued, and celebrated.
