This year, in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, SomeOne Needs You Volunteer Week will focus on the importance of reducing the stigma around mental health struggles, raise awareness of mental health issues, and mobilize efforts in support of mental health in the lives of teens in crisis.
Sony Corporation of America is proud to partner with Project Helping, a nonprofit organization focused on improving mental wellness through accessible experiences that create purpose and connection, to offer employees a free Teen Mental Health Kynd Kit to assemble at home, while supplies last.
These kits will benefit two incredible organizations in both the New York City and Northern Virginia areas:
The Ali Forney Center, based in New York City, is the largest agency dedicated to LGBTQ+ homeless youths in the country – assisting over 2,000 youths per year through a 24-hour Drop-in Center, which provides over 70,000 meals annually, medical and mental health services through an on-site clinic, and a scattered-site housing program.
Second Story, based in Northern Virginia, transforms the lives of children, youth and their families by providing safe havens and opportunities for them to grow and thrive.Their programs focus mostly on homeless youth, teens in crisis and young mothers.Together, with their clients, they work toward self-sufficiency, breaking cycles of homelessness, abuse, and poverty.
Please order your Teen Mental Health Kynd Kitno later than Friday, May 21, and use promo code SonyVolunteer during checkout.
