Spark’s Mental Wellness Program offers up to 10 free sessions of counseling to people experiencing barriers to accessing services. Common barriers include cost, lack of insurance and scarcity of providers. Counseling services are provided by highly vetted volunteer mental health professionals and are offered virtually. In-person services are available on a limited basis.
To access counseling services:
Q: How long will it take to be matched?
A: After an initial intake is conducted, we can typically match clients with a volunteer clinician within two weeks. Occasionally it may take longer, depending on the specific needs and call volume.
Q: What if I need more than 10 sessions?
A: On a case-by-case basis, your volunteer clinician and Mental Wellness Program staff will work with you to secure other resources to meet your continued needs.
Q: Who is eligible to receive free services?
A: To be eligible, you must be experiencing a barrier to accessing services. Barriers may include lack of insurance, inability to pay co-pay or out of pocket fees, stigma, and scarcity of providers in your geographic area. We are not a crisis intervention program and do not provide medication management or long-term intensive services.
Q: What if I don’t meet the qualifications for free services?
A: The Mental Wellness Team will provide you with resources to guide you in meeting your needs.
Q: Can I receive services in Spanish?
A: Yes. Spanish language services are available but may require a longer wait time.
