Exciting News: Spark Joins Forces with Project Helping!

BIG changes are happening in the volunteer and mental wellness landscape! We are thrilled to announce that Spark the Change Colorado has officially merged with Project Helping to create even greater impact in the community. Moving forward, Spark the Change Colorado will be known as Spark by Project Helping, and all Spark programs will be integrated under Project Helping’s umbrella.

Why the Merger?

Both Spark and Project Helping share a deep commitment to improving mental wellness through meaningful volunteer service. By combining resources, expertise, and networks, we can expand opportunities for volunteers, providing greater support to our nonprofit partners and an even stronger impact on communities across Colorado and beyond.

What This Means for You.

  • Expanded Opportunities: Volunteers will have access to a broader range of programs and service projects, from mental wellness initiatives to hands-on volunteer experiences.
  • Seamless Transition: All programs from each organization will continue under Project Helping’s umbrella. Spark leadership will continue leading Spark programs, ensuring continuity and growth.
  • Greater Community Impact: By uniting, we can serve more people, engage more volunteers, and build a healthier, more connected community. Through this partnership, we are excited to accelerate our national expansion together while deepening our commitment to providing programming to all communities in Colorado.

How Will We Ensure Our Mission and Values Remain Aligned?

Both organizations were born out of a need for accessible community volunteerism and mental wellness resources. By combining our expertise, we can expand access to volunteer-driven wellness programs while staying true to our core principles. We commit to:

  • Prioritize the voice of our volunteers, partner organizations, and community members in the transition to ensure the merger strengthens—not dilutes—our shared mission.
  • Collaborate closely at the leadership level to integrate our goals while maintaining our core values of meaningful volunteerism, mental wellness, and community connection & impact.
  • Assess existing programs to ensure they complement rather than compete, preserving their unique impact while aligning efforts for greater efficiency.
  • Implement ongoing assessments to measure mission alignment, with transparent communication about any strategic shifts or new opportunities.

We remain dedicated to igniting positive change through service. Whether you’re a longtime supporter of Spark and/or Project Helping, or you’re just getting to know us, we invite you to join us as we continue doing good together!
