Project Helping Volunteer Project at Angels of God Childcare Center
Today was an impactful day for the volunteer team from Project Helping. We provided a volunteer group to help with much needed tasks at the Angels of God Childcare Center.
At Angels of God, all families and children are welcome. They serve primarily low-income families and the center itself is under-served and under-funded. Having a volunteer group come in to provide much needed services to ensure the center operates at it’s best is imperative to their success.
The work that was done needed to be done to ensure a safe, engaging and fun environment for the children who call Angels of God home. The majority of the work focused on improvements that the center could not make on their own. The volunteer group was able to paint every classroom with fun, bright colors. We also built new half-doors between several areas to ensure the kids were safe and not able to leave unattended. All of these project would have cost significant money and time to accomplish without the great volunteer team.
Not only did the volunteers create an amazing impact on Angels of God Child Care Center, they also created an amazing impact on their own health. If you didn’t know, volunteering is one of the best things you can do for yourself. There are amazing health benefits to volunteering. The benefits go beyond the obvious physical benefits to incredibly powerful mental health benefits. When you help others, you also help yourself.
Everyone struggles with something and sometimes, those struggles can turn into lingering feeling and potentially turn into symptoms of depression. If you have been struggling, you’re not alone. Volunteering is one of the best things you can do for yourself and Project Helping makes it easy and fun to get involved!
