Denver Children’s Home provides a comprehensive therapeutic and educational continuum of care for our region’s abused, neglected and traumatized children and their families with mental health issues. WHAT WILL WE BE DOING? Project Helping volunteers have the opportunity to prepare and serve a home-cooked dinner for the kids and staff of the Residential Program. Project Helping Kindfulness for Kids Event A Precious Child is devoted to making a positive impact in the lives of disadvantaged and displaced children and families in Colorado by improving their quality of life. They provide basic essentials to children in need to empower them to succeed in school. The mission of Food For Thought is the elimination of weekend hunger in Denver’s Title 1 elementary schools. Each PowerSack has 9-13 items, enough to feed a family of four 2 meals over the weekend. FFT targets schools where 90% or more of the students are eligible for free and reduced lunch programs (income of a family of four is less than $29K/year to qualify). By providing a Powersack to each child in the school each week, they work to assure…
